Au Pair SA ("") is committed to protecting your personal information. This privacy policy ("Privacy Policy") is designed to allow for a clear understanding of how (the "Site") collects and stores information, including "Personal Information" as described by the Protection of Personal Information Act 2013 ("POPI Act"), uses, discloses and processes information during the course of our business operations (our "Services"). This Privacy Policy applies to users ("Users") of, including those who are looking to find an au pair to assist their family ("Families") as well as those who are looking to find an au pair job ("Au Pairs") through the use of the Site and anyone who is a visitor ("Visitors") to the Site. For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, the terms "us, "our" and "we" refer to and "you" and "your" refers to you, the User of the Site and the various Services provided by, as described by this Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy applies to you if you (i) are a Visitor to our website, (ii) are a User and have created an account on website, (iii) contacted or communicated with us, (iv) submitted responses to job listing services, provided feedback, rated the Services or make available any other content on the Site.

Personal Information includes the information collected as described by this Privacy Policy but does not include (i) information that has been made anonymous so that it does not identity a specific person, (ii) permanently de-identified information that is not directly linked to you or cannot be reasonably traced back to you, (iii) non-personal information that is processed by us for statistical purposes and (iv) information that has been provided by you in a voluntary manner in a public, open environment or forum including on any blog, chat forum, community, classifieds or disussion board (this is because this information has been deliberately been made public by you and does not constitute to Personal Information that is under the protection of this Privacy Policy).

By using the Site, or by otherwise providing us with information as described by this Privacy Policy, or any changes to it, you consent the processing, storage, use, disclosure and processing of the information, including Personal Information by us. If you do not consent to the processing, storage, use and disclosure of the information by us, do not use the Site.

Information Collection gives Au Pairs & Famlies ("Members") the opportunity to connect with each other in a quick and simple manner. The arrangements made between Au Pairs and Families is not so much a usual employment relationship, but rather like becoming a temporary family member. For this reason, we ask our Members to provide us with an array of information upon registration for the purpose of assisting Au Pairs and Famlies to facilitate a better understanding of each other's requirements.

We collect Personal Information from you, including but not limited to, your name and surname, email address, phone number and other information that links to information that personally identifies you. With certain exceptions, you may choose how much information to include when using our Services. We may also collect special personal information that you choose to provide us with, including but not limited to your religious or philosophical beliefs. You may choose not to provide us with this information and this is entirely up to you. We also may collect information that is not used in a form in which you may be identitfied ("Non-Personal Information"). You acknowledge and understand that you may only send us your Personal Information or someone else's Personal Information only if you have their permission to do so.

People under the age of 18 are not permitted to use the Service on their own. We do not knowingly process information of children without parental consent. If you believe that a child under the age of 18 has provided us with Personal Information as described by this Privacy Policy without parental consent, please let us know through the details on the "Contact Us" form on our website. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Information of a child without parental consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete it as quickly as possible.

How We Collect Information

We collect information when you voluntarily submit it to us, including Personal Information during the registration process, when you use our Site, during the payment process and, occasionally, at other times. Members may send personal messages via our messaging service. To prevent fraud, ensure the safety of our Users and to otherwise enforce our Terms of Service, these messages may be monitored by us and processed by our employees. Users may also post third party Personal Information, such as name and email for referral purposes. This information is used only for the purposes which it was collected.

Similarly, if you contact us via our communication channels such as email, through our website, on a job listing service or any other communication channel, we may collect, store, use, disclose and process this information as described by this Privacy Policy.

Technologies, such as cookies, may be used by and our website analytics operators. These technologies are used in administering the Site, analyzing trends and tracking Users movements around the Site and to collect information about the Users of the Site as a whole. We have not control or access over any cookies that our website analytics operators use on our website and these operators have their own privacy policies that govern them.

We may use cookies to help Users move through the Site faster, to maintain certain preferences and to make the Site generally more secure and user-friendly. For example, when a User signs-in to the Site, we may pass a cookie to the Users device. This is in an effort, amongst other things, to avoid the potentially time-consuming process of submitting username and password details each time a page is requested. Information contained in the cookies is encrypted before being sent to the Users device. Users can control their cookie preferences through their browser preferences. If you do not accept cookies, you may use the Site but certain features and areas of our Site may be restricted.

As with most websites, we may gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. We may collect, store, disclose and process this information in order to provide our Services, to improve these Services and for security related purposes.

Information Use

The use of Personal Information that we collect is used for the primary objective for which it is collected, including (i) to enable us to provide our Services, (ii) to allow for Au Pairs searching for au pair jobs and Families searching for Au Pairs to connect with each other, (iii) to ensure for a safer community for all Users of the Site.

Families that purchase a Premium Membership ("Premium Members") may see your first and last name and phone number listed on your Au Pair profile. Au Pairs may also see Premium Members first and last name listed on your profile, including your phone number if you choose to provide it. If you choose not to include your phone number, Au Pairs and Families may only contact you through your email address.

As part of your acceptance of this Privacy Policy, you are agreeing to receive emails and other correspondence from and its Members. You may cease emails and correspondence from the Site by de-activating your profile through the "De-Activate My Profile" form on your profile on the website. We reserve the right to contact Users at any time regarding memberships, profile de-activations, account cancellations and other membership-related issues or questions.

Information Sharing

We may disclose your personal information to the personnel of for processing so that they may assist us in providing our Services. We may share your information with third parties who assist us with providing our Services ("Operators"), including website and email hosts, SMS messaging services and payment providers. This information is shared for the sole purpose of allowing us to provide our Services.

In order to increase the chances of Au Pairs and Familes connecting with each we share your information with Members of the Site who are seeking a working relationship with you as a result of your online registration. While we have numerous safeguards, security measures and fraud prevention methods in place, we are not responsible for anyone else's privacy policies and practices and no representations or warranties are made regarding the legitimacy of the claims of those who contact you using the information you have provided us with as described by this Privacy Policy. You are urged to validate the identity of anyone who contacts you before making any commitments or arrangements.

We may share non-personal information about your profile with third-parties that list this information in public search results, job listing services and other third party websites. Your first and last name together, email address and phone numbers will not be made visible when listed. This information is shared to facilitate the chances of Au Pairs finding the most suitable jobs and Families finding best possible childcare.

We may disclose information we have collected about you if required to do so by law, or if we in our sole discretion decide that the disclosure is necessary to (i) protect some-one's health or safety or when someone's health or safety is threatened, (ii) to protect the legitimate interests of or that of a third-parties, (iii) to comply with legal requirements, or any other legal proceedings whether or not required by law.

If in the event that we go through a business transition such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your Personal Information may be among the assets involved in the transfer. You acknowledge and consent that such transfers may occur and are permitted and that any acquirer's assets may continue to process your Personal Information as detailed in this Privacy Policy.

We may also share your information with third-parties if you have consented to such sharing.

Our sharing of information, in accordance with this Privacy Policy, may include the export of your information to affiliates or third parties in locations outside of South Africa ("Third Country Recipients"). You consent to the disclosure of your information to Third Country Recipients in the manner contemplated by this Privacy Policy. While we remain committed to protecting your privacy, you acknowledge and agree that (i) Third Country Recipients are not subject to South African privacy laws and may store, use, disclose or process Personal Information in a manner not compliant with South African privacy laws; and (ii) has no controls over, and is not liable for the acts and ommisions of Third Country Recipients.

Information Security

While there is no practical way to secure the information you supply to us, we have implemented a high standard of security and industry standard safeguards to protect your information from un-authorized access. These safegaurds include: Access controlled data centers, SSL (Secure Socket Layer) certificates, strong passwords and encryption and firewalls. We continually maintain, update and verify these safeguards, keeping them up-to-date with current security best practices and the latest known threats.

Your user account is also protected by the password that you use to access your online account on We urge you to take the necessary steps to keep your password safe. You may not disclose your password to any third parties or share it with any third parties. If, despite the foregoing, you feel your password has been comprimised, you should immediately change it by signing-in to your account and selecting "Edit My Profile". After you have finished using the Site, you should sign out of your account and exit the browser.

While we take these precautions in an effort to safegaurd your information against un-authorized access, there is no guarantee that such information may not be accessed, disclosed, modified or destroyed by a breach of the security safegaurds. By using our Site, you acknowledge that you understand and agree to accept these risks.

Information Retention

We will retain your information as long as you maintain an account with or as needed to provide our Services. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and otherwise enforce our agreements.

If you no longer desire our services, you may request that we delete your Personal Information at any time by sending us a request through the details provided on the "Contact Us" page on our website. We may take steps to verify your identity to prevent un-authorized access when processing these requests.

User Participation

You may access your Personal Information that has collected about you on the "View Profile" page on your profile on our website. If your Personal Information changes you may correct, update or amend it by making your desired changes on the "Edit My Profile" form on your profile on our website.
