"Dear Family" message

Dear Family I hope this message finds you well. My name is Nicole S, I was born in Port Elizabeth however relocated to Pretoria in 2016. I have travelled a lot since covid. I have lived in the Western Cape Kleinmond, Potchefstroom North West, Upington Northern Cape, Nashville and New York. I enjoy traveling. My reason for wishing to be an au pair is because I have a passion for working with children. If I wasn’t studying IT Software Development, I would’ve absolutely studied to be an Educator. My long term goal is to teach computer literacy to mothers and children who cannot afford the classes or education to learn these skills. I understand that welcoming a stranger into your home as an au pair to look after your beloved children can be difficult. With this understanding and knowledge I will do my best to flexible and adapting to your children’s needs. I understand that everyone has their own learning style, personality and opinions which should be embraced, acknowledged and expressed. I love seeing the world through little peoples eyes. As a Christian, I strongly believe Children are a gift from God and should be treated as such. I will do my best to treat your children as gifts from God.

Why I would make the perfect au pair

Acknowledging everyone has their own learning style, opinion and personality is one of the many reasons I chose to be an au pair because this way I get to work one on one caring for children whereas it is sometimes overlooked in a classroom. This way I am able to acknowledge them, listen to their option and embrace their personality. I have been working with children since the age of 16, both professionally and voluntary. I chose to start at such a young age because I have a very childlike personality that is refreshing to express with children. My work experience with children varies from 6 months old to 12 years old. I have tutored English to Russian children, worked volunteering at orphanages with all age groups, worked at my churches Sunday school, been an au pair to a 6 month old in Amercia and I have been a tutor to two 11 year old girls. I think I would be an ideal live in au pair for your family because I will know my place of being a member of the team, your household, that helps with these lessons, abilities, etc., I will be present as the third party, I will adopt your parenting style and blend in with it to ensure that the child or children experience no uncertainty. To put it plainly, I will respect all boundaries and have your back as the parent or parent always. I will respect coming into your home means your rules, I will live by them and I will not disrespect anyone.
