Introduction to families
"Dear Family" message
Dear Family I hope you have had a wonderful day. My name is Lara D and I am 21 years old. I was born in Hermanus and raised in Hwston in the Overberg region in Western Cape. I live with both my amazing parents, my grandmother and my little brother.
Why I would make the perfect au pair
I have been described as a calm, dedicated and patient person. In my personal life I have assisted my family with medical emergencies involving taking medical prescriptions, preventing panic attacks, preparing for doctor and hospital visits. I have done numerous household chores such as meal prep and cooking, cleaning and laundry. I am also at least 10 years older than all my cousins and have been involved in caring for and playing with them to give their parents some peace of mind. During my last two years of highschool I was elected by the teachers and my fellow schoolmates to become 1 of the 6 prefects. The required duties involved monitoring the playground and break areas of children aged 7 to 18. It also involved bringing the students in for any medical attention, assisting teachers with the younger children, ensuring appropriate school behaviour, preventing fights and keeping a tidy environment. From the age of 16 to 17, I was a member of the Overberg Junior Town Council. A group of highschool students who represented their respective schools and the local government to the community. This involved many community projects that directly concerned the well-being of people. From environmental clean ups to raising resources for the disadvantaged, spending time with the elderly and creating and participating in projects to uplift others.
Hobbies and other interests
My current hobbies include; baking (pudding, cakes and breads), reading, yoga, gardening and Parkrun.
