"Dear Family" message

Hi host family. Thank you for taking the time to read my letter. My name is Himeshni, I am 22 years old. I am currently an au pair in US, I am however ending a beautiful journey that I have had in the past 2 years. Coming back home I wanted to continue my interactions with kids and what a better way than to au pair in my home country. I matriculated in 2019 and took a gap year while taking a gap year I decided that Au pairing was the way to go. Ever since I did my first babysitting job I knew that taking care of kids was something that brought me joy and happiness. While I have been away, I was studying through UNISA which I am currently doing. I am studying towards a degree in BA in international relations.

Why I would make the perfect au pair

I would love to become your next Au Pair because I love children and enjoy spending time with them. I am well aware of the responsibilities that come with looking after your children. I hopefully want to be like an older sister to them. My calm, patient and understanding personality will help me to deal with different situations for instance when the kids don’t want to listen to me I will be calm and will try to understand as to why they wont do what I had told them. I believe that I have good negotiating skills. I do know that the first few days that I get there will be a bit difficult but I hope you bear with me. It will be a different environment, new people, new kids and responsibilities. But I am sure that I will adapt to the environment, people and responsibilities quickly. I am really curious to hear all about you and your children. I hope you learnt about me from my letter and I can’t wait to hear back from you.

Hobbies and other interests

In my spare time, I dance I've been dancing for the the last 14 years. This dance form is called Bharatanatyam. At dance lessons I would help out with the other kids and help show them dance steps. On Friday afternoons I would volunteer at the Sathya Sai Balvikas program where I would teach kids on the importance of prayer, respecting all religions and teaching the valuable lessons. When I would see the kids practicing the things I taught such as manners and meditation that would bring me so much of happiness. I also love reading, especially motivational books. One of my favorite authors is Mark Manson. I enjoy cooking and baking although it does not turn out the way I want, but I find cooking as a calming tool.
