Hi, My name is Alex, I am currently 24 years old and looking for the next step forward in life and my career. When deciding what I wanted to do upon completion of Matric, I only had two options I wanted to look at; being beauty and teaching. I studied very briefly after finishing matric, and am a qualified makeup artist, soon after qualifying I was fortunate enough to dive straight into working. Since 2018 I have worked full time in the aesthetics and beauty industry, something I am passionate about, however it just kind of happened instead of me actively searching for those kinds of rolls. Now almost 5 years later, and at my young age, I unfortunately burnt myself out. I am a bit of a workaholic and love a challenge, so I ended up putting too much on my plate at once. Now that I am able to, I have decide to walk away from the hustle and bustle and demands of a full time job - and walk into something I have always had a passion for, that being working with children and child care. The only reason I didn't study teaching straight out of school was the constraint of a multiple year degree, now that time has passed regardless and the passion for working with children is still strong, I'd like to take a step towards that.

Why I would make the perfect au pair

I believe I could an integral part to your family because I pride myself on having a good head on my shoulders. I am a patient, kind and caring person - often complimented on how big my heart for others is. I am a firm believer that our children are our future, obviously, and would like to think that if I could at least make a difference to one child's life, that would be enough of an achievement in my own life. I think it is of utmost importance that each child grows and learns in a supportive, motivating and loving environment, and fully trust I would be able to aid in creating such an environment for your child.

Hobbies and other interests

Some things that bring me joy in life are health and fitness. I am an avid gym goer, healthy eater and mindful person. I have a big interest in mental health and well-being, often doing research into how best to help and maintain ones mental health to optimally run all aspects of life. I love animals, have 2 small dogs of my own. I love to read and believe knowledge is truly power. The most import thing to me in life is family, keeping my Mom, Dad and Sister at the forefront of my mind and heart.
