I am currently a private facilitator for a 9-year-old boy. I assist him in class with his academic progress, sustained attention, and emotional regulation. Before my current employment, I worked for the star academy as a senior ABA instructor with children on the spectrum. My roles included leading a team of instructors on various cases and ensuring the programmes were implemented correctly, with the guidance of my supervisor. This included providing sensory stimulation, cognitive skill development, academics, and behaviour management. I also assisted with homework and assignments for the older children.

Introduction to families
My name is Shaune H, and I am 25 year old female. I am currently working privately as a facilitator with a sweet 9 year old boy, which I do from 8:00 to 13:00. I completed my BA in Psychology and Sociology in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape. I graduated in the top 15% and was awarded Golden Key. I believe I went into psychology because I had a need to help people, and after my nephew was born, I realized that my true passion was children and their development. It was during my child and adolescent development modules that really helped finalize what it was I wanted to do, and that was to aid in the development of children. Before my current employment, I worked for the Star Academy. It was a lovely chapter, which taught me more about children on the spectrum. I am confident in saying that I have gained the skills needed to aid in your child's growth. I look forward to hearing from you.
I am dedicated, passionate and loyal, thriving in environments where initiative and creative thinking are encouraged. I have a passion for working with children and aiding in their overall development, especially concerning children on the spectrum. I aim to help find strategies that make independent learning achievable but still fun. I always strive to deliver excellent results and my working style is open, participatory, and encouraging.
During my spare time, I enjoy doing outdoor activities, playing a sport, helping in my community, and spending quality time with my family and friends.

Academic facilitation - in this area I focus on helping him throughout the school day with any areas he is struggling with. I focus his attention on tasks that need to be completed, encourage him in being proactive, and aid him while building tools to further independence. Emotional support/ regulation - I help him transition from various lessons and activities, help improve his regulation (sensory and emotional), and help him build the tools for independent regulation and appropriate behaviour. Social interactions with peers and adults - I help him build friendships and interests with his peers, and assist with adult interactions with teachers or other therapists.
