Introduction to families

"Dear Family" message

Dear family. My name is Hlumela Hope Q and I am a 25 year old recent graduate. Just last year I completed my postgraduate certificate in education from Stellenbosch university and I have tutored a short period of time to primary school children in my community. I am a compassionate and caring person who has only had the experience of taking care of my younger brothers and sister before they got into high school. I come from a family of 7, to which I an the middle child, therefore, it was imperative for me to be one of the siblings that take care of them. I am passionate about kids and as well as education, so what better opportunity to showcase my passion for teaching and children. I am generally a quiet person, however, very loud and proud when it comes to things I am passionate about. I love travelling as my family and I try to do so at least once a year, I love listening to music and spending time with my friends. We love to eat, so our time is mostly spent on being spontaneous and trying out different places to eat. I love the outdoor but hate the cold. I love the beach but cannot swim. Safe to say I am a walking paradox. But in all of that, I am eager to demonstrate my passion for children and education within a respectable family that shows high standards for their children and others that enter their home.

Why I would make the perfect au pair

My student teacher experience has afforded me the opportunity to work with/ teaching children who come from diverse background and to assume all responsibilities of a teacher, therefore I know firsthand what’s expected of learners and their school work. Moreover, with such a strong background in Psychology, it will be easy for me to build a rapport with children, bringing compassion and care into the child’s environment. Apart from my passion for children, I would make the perfect au pair because I would also be cognisant of the many factors affecting the ability of the child to fully concentrate in school. I feel truly ready and confident to take on the challenges that an au pair has to offer.
