"Dear Family" message

Hi Family! I’m currently an Au Pair in the US and have been for three years. I will be returning to South Africa soon and I cannot wait to be back home. I have been a full time student and have had a job at Cape Town International Airport but I realized that working with kids was my true passion. Being an Au Pair in the US has been an amazing blessing and has given me the incredible opportunity to travel and experience another culture. I have gained a great deal of experience during my three years here and I hope that I can share what I have learned and experienced with your kids and family.

Why I would make the perfect au pair

I would be the perfect au pair for your family because I have been an au pair in the US for three years and also an au pair in South Africa. I know what it takes to look after kids and get them ready for school and or afternoon activities. Kids require a lot of attention and patience which I luckily have plenty of. I will always be kind to your kids and make sure they are well looked after and happy. My goal is to always create a happy, safe and welcoming environment for your kids and leave a lasting impression. There is nothing more important to me than ensuring your kids safety but I also want the time I spend them with them to be full of joy. I love planning little activities and taking them out for the day. I’m also very flexible. I think this has been one of my best assets and why my host families have been so happy to have me. I’m always happy to help where needed, that and the fact that I love to cook. I help my host mom meal prep every week and I cook all the meals for the week.

Hobbies and other interests

I love traveling and exploring the world. And I’m extremely fascinated by other countries and cultures. I will always encourage and teach your kids new and interesting facts. I’m an avid reader and love exploring South Africa and finding little hidden gems around the Western Cape. I also enjoy camping, being outdoors and I especially love cooking. Being in America has made me appreciate South Africa (and especially the snacks) so much more! It has been an amazing experience one that I wouldn’t change for anything. I was a live in au pair, responsible for getting Aiden ready for school, preparing lunch, cleaning his play area, transporting him to and from a activities (school, play dates, birthday parties, fun excursions etc), cooking dinner for Aiden, bedtime etc. In the house I was also in charge of ordering or buying groceries. Job description

I’m in charge of keeping kids play areas, rooms and bathroom clean and tidy. I also clean the house pretty often by my own choice. I’m a very cleanly person and they have a cute little Labrador Willow but she sheds everywhere so I vacuum atleast once every two days. I’m also the chef (as they like to jokingly tell their friends). I’m in charge of meal prepping for the week and I cook all meals for the week. Most of my day is spent with the kids so I take them out for little activities depending on the weather either outdoor and indoor. But they also love playing at home and doing arts and crafts and playing games so we try to do that at least once a week. I’m also responsible for washing and folding the kids laundry. And I run errands from time to time.
