"Dear Family" message

Dear Family. My name is Sunitha S, I currently live in Kuils River, Cape Town. I just recently came back from North Carolina, America. I worked and lived in the USA for 2 and a half years as an AuPair with the same family. I left May 2019 and came back December 2021. I had the best time. I like to think I'm adventures - I like to try new things and explore new places. I'm always up for challenges and like to find solutions to problems.

Why I would make the perfect au pair

I like a semi routine with an occasional fun non routine day. I'm kind, respectful, patient, organised and clean. I'm also hard working and am willing to learn what I don't know or something I struggle with. I'm also fine with flexible hours/schedule. I've done an AuPair course in 2019, I also had first aid level 2, but my certificate expired in 2020. I'm happy and open to redoing the course. I also did an online TEFL course.

Hobbies and other interests

I like to be creative. I like to paint, draw, puzzles, reading, writing, movies. I also like to go on walks and recently started doing yoga and really enjoy it. I oddly also like to clean, do laundry and to organise closets.

Job description

I would usually start at 8 unless. I would get the younger two from their rooms and go downstairs together. We would quickly clean their rooms, make their beds, and dress for the day. We would then go downstairs and have breakfast. Last few months the oldest started going to school so my duties with her got less. My main role with the kids was to entertain. So my days consisted of fun playtime and fun art activities and if the weather was nice, we would spend the entire day outside. I would start preparing lunch at 12 pm. The baby nap took her nap around 1 pm and I and the middle kid would spend some quality time together. Once maybe twice a week I would do the kids' laundry. I also packed and unpacked the dishwasher when it was done washing. Then occasionally I would make dinner and do their nighttime routine. Give them dinner, a bath, read a story, and put them in their beds. I would then watch the baby monitor till the parents came back, or I would watch it overnight.

the whole family loved sunitha. you won’t be able to find a single reason not to either: she’s kind, flexible, organized, trustworthy, dependable, fun, and eager to go above and beyond. as our au pair for over two years we were crushed to have her leave. she grew from a shy teenager to a strong, mature young lady. it was a pleasure to have her live with us and think of her as a part of our family. sunitha is extra unique in that you could rely on her to establish and keep to steadfast routines and yet also entrust she could be completely flexible when needed and appropriate. she took direction very maturely. I never had to tell her twice; nitha would always remember and follow through. anything I asked her to remind me of or keep in order, she did and it kept me as a busy professional and mother afloat, and my personality type (very type a) incredibly happy. any family and kids would be particularly lucky to have her in their lives!
