Description of tutoring experience

I have experience with tutoring Grade1 to Grade 5 learners. I am familiar with the curriculum as I have been tutoring, helping with homework and exam preparation. The learner has passed his grades and is now in grade 5, and still doing well. I have help with Mathematics, Social sciences, life skills, English, Natural Sciences, and Life Orientation. Why I would make the perfect au pair

What makes me different from other Au Pairs is my way of engagement with the kids. I understand that the child's mind needs to be stimulated and helped to reach necessary milestoned I am not afraid to get dirty and loud, just like they are. And families with more that one or two kids, I understand that giving them individual attention is just as important as creating a strong bond amongst them as siblings, I understand that there will be siblings rivalries but I can teach them how to communicate with one another amd resolve misunderstandings. I effortlessly go an extra mile to ensure that parents are happy with my work and make sure the kids are happy and given all they need. I'm also a very open minded person, religion, same sex couples, single parents and other factors don't bother me and also open my eyes to learning people for people and not for their sexuality or beliefs.

Lungile worked as an au pair to my family in Pretoria East for November and December 2022 when my workload required additional working hours. At that time my son was 13 months of age. I was initially apprehensive about leaving my son with someone new on such short notice, but all my fears were taken away the minute I met Lungile. And I have never had any cause for complain. Since I am a working mother, I often left my son in Lungile’s care (unsupervised). She initiated therapeutic exercises to guide him through his walking milestone. She cared for him when he was ill, oversaw his nutrition, equipped his room for daily activities, and prepared his personal belongings for trips and extracurricular activities. Every day was an adventure with Lungile. She was always sure to make every interaction a fun learning experience. And her energy seems limitless! Lungile played a part in contributing to who my son is now; a very happy, well-behaved, curious and intelligent boy. I have gotten to know Lungile on a more personal level and if I had to describe her in three words, I would choose: Caring, trustworthy, and resourceful. For her young age, she is incredibly mature with a steady and independent personal life. It deeply saddens me that we are unable to keep Lungile on due to my increasing work demands, and my son going to nursery school as of January 2023, but I would hire her again in an instant if I could. Lungile has worked with for my family from April 2019 to August 2022. Lungile is very playful with the children, very loving and caring, she loves children and she is a great teacher as she loves to teach them new things and is also patient. I can confirm that she helped me with my two children, initially she was there for my 6 year old and later my family welcome a new baby in 2020. Young as she is, Lungile was more like a mother to my kids than a sister she did everything child related, feeding, changed diapers, put down for naps, bathing, dressing/changing clothes, preparing bottles, entertainment and mind stimulation. As well a tutoring my son, homework assistantance, exam preparations and helping with reading and writing. The kids lived with Lungile for about 4 months when I was in hospital and took care of my household. Unfortunately she had to leave us to give more attention to her studies, we still use her services from time to time and she has fully become a part of our family.
