Description of tutoring experience

I have three years of full time teaching experience as an Educator at an Independent School that is registered with the Department of Education. I taught English as a Home Language to Grade 7, Grade 5 and Grade 4 learners as well as Life Skills to Grade 3 learners. I was also a temporary Homeroom Teacher for Grade 2 learners for 1 term. The school follows the CAPS Curriculum. I was also a Reading Skills Teacher for grades 1, 2 and 3.

Dear Family, I have been living and teaching in Sodwana Bay, KZN for approximately 3 years and would now like to relocate to a bigger city as an au-pair and/or home school teacher. I am a warm, caring and patient person, especially with children and I have a great sense of responsibility for the children in my care. I would so like to be an asset to your family which needs extra help to give their children excellent and focused care and to help with their educational needs if needed. I believe I had a special and meaningful relationship with my students at Sodwana Bay Primary School who were aged between 5 and 14 years old. I was also the Netball coach for our under 9B Netball team. I therefore believe that I have so much experience in childcare through my extensive au- pairing and teaching experience. Why I would make the perfect au pair

While studying for my BA degree at UCT, I worked as an au-pair mainly in the southern suburbs of Cape Town, in the afternoons, collecting children from school, preparing lunch for them, assisting with homework and sometimes preparing dinner for the family. I would also look after the children over the weekend on my own while their mother was away and often took the children on outings and swam and played with them when homework was done in the afternoons. I also travelled to London in my early twenties and worked as an au-pair/nanny there too. I would make the perfect au-pair as I so enjoy engaging with children as they experience and learn about the world around them. I have extensive teaching experience and I believe I would be an ideal Home School Teacher as well as au-pair for your family. I so enjoy having fun yet informative conversations with children, at their age level. I really empathise with children and can get down to their level and help them in difficult emotional times too. I have an excellent upbringing and will always maintain respect humility and good manners in your home. With my teaching experience I can be an asset to your child/children's educational needs and am keen to do home schooling if required. I am extremely responsible and will constantly observe and fully supervise your child/children when they are in my care. Job description

Au-pair for the Gruss family, looking after their son Brad who has Aspergers. I would collect Brad from school, help him to complete his homework and prepare lunch and snacks for him. In our free time we played boardgames, his favourite being chess and we also enjoyed swimming and playing with his dogs. On some weekends I would take Brad out to watch a movie and go to animal parks. I had a wonderful experience with this au-pair position!
