Introduction to families
Dear Family I Graduated from Fashion design school in March 2023. I have a small clothing and accessory brand I am working on but am looking for a more stable income. I have thoroughly enjoyed sharing my creative skills in sewing and crafts with the families I have worked with over the last 5 years as an Au pair whilst studying. I enjoy baking and cooking especially cupcakes, biscuits and wholewheat pizza with healthy toppings. I completed an Au pair course at Chilton in Green Point in 2019. I am offering baby sitting to families who need someone who can be a regular stable and loving person that you can call on. If you would like to meet please feel free to message me or even a call.
I have been brought up in a home where my stay-at-home mom spent lots of time sewing clothes for my dolls, dressing dolls, baking with me, working on projects, reading, singing and dancing. I would love to take care of young children and create these experiences for them. I am not scared to play with the children at their level. I am organized, punctual and caring. In addition to the First Aid covered on the course at Chilton, I have had a lot of experience taking care of my younger sister who is on the autism spectrum. I took care of and have had to be firm and loving at the same time. I believe a routine is very important for us all and especially children they really look up to us adults for guidance.
I enjoy swimming (even in a river!) and love camping. Ice-skating, sewing, working with felt, designing, baking, knitting and art. I have previously run a small freshly baked muffin business, selling to businesses in the Claremont area. I have been buying and selling Second-hand clothing for 8 years, selling on-line and at markets. I am also available for baby or house sitting should the family needs this service.

I worked afternoons for the Bird family. I mainly fetched the 7 year old girl each day and took her to her extramural that were outside of school, homework, prepared lunch and supper and occasionally assisting with bath time. Play and caring for the 2 girls and keeping them busy with crafts and fun activities instead of tv. This position was what I would call emergency support for a family - The mom had major surgery and I took over the loving and caring role she played while she was unable to be with them for the short period of 7 weeks. Mom is doing well now and kids are happy to have mama home!

I volunteered in 2015 and 2016 looking after the infants and young children in the creche at the home. Duties included nappy changes, occasionally bathing babies, feeding and preparing their feeds. Baby massage and age appropriate stimulation. I also prepared food in the kitchen of the home with the housemom. I am currently continuing to gain experience by working with the infants. I previously worked with the toddlers and the pre-schoolers group.

I pick up Maya from school everyday and drove her to her extra murals near by. I was basically a mentor or a big sister taking her to and from school, art, ballet and the library safely. A truly amazing family. Reason for leaving, they are going to move overseas next year.

Chelsea has been a fantastic au-pair that our daughter has loved spending time with. She's cheerful, generous, reliable and pro-active. I have found her to be very tuned into the needs of our daughter and us - alerting us to any information around the needs of our daughter that may be of value. She is very dependable and has excellent communication skills.

Chelsea is a very kind, loving compassionate person. She went above and beyond to meet Bella’s physical and emotional needs. She is creative and stimulated Bella’s creativity with various tasks and taking her on interesting trips and adventures. She assisted with ensuring that Bella went to extra-murals, co-ordinated the too and fro between households and always ensured that Bella had whatever she needed to complete her school day, books, uniforms, stationery etc. She is very good at planning and her time spent with us will be forever memorable. Unfortunately we have had financial limitations preventing us from keeping Chelsea on. It’s a great loss but someone else’s treasure.

Hi fetched Jaime and Isla everyday from school, then it was home for a health lunch or snack depending on the time.I made sure to do homework that was half written and half online each day. Arranging play dates with other moms or Au pairs when there was a shorter day at school or in the holidays. I would bake and play outside and often swim in the summer time with them. I also came up with activities they could do in the car should one of them need to wait for the other between school collection times. Notifying mom and dad or sometimes granny when I have collected kids and we are home safe. Kind and loving family to work for.
