Dear Family, My name is Kayla R. I am a past student who studied Foundation Phase teaching through Unisa and I have 2 years of experience working as a Learnership at a school in Edenvale. I am currently living in Joburg. I LOVE looking after and spending time with children thus, most of my work and experience is in that field. My long-term goal was to do my postgraduate in Psychology and Major in Child Psychology, but the heartache that comes with the job was not for me so I decided to change my degree but still work with children where I can. I completed my studies for my Bachelor's Degree in Applied Social Science (majoring in Psychology and Counseling) through SACAP at the end of 2023. I have over a year's experience with being an Au Pair as well, having the responsibility of looking after 3 children. I have been accepted to study for Honors for 2014. I would make the perfect Au Pair as I am a very hard worker. I have a passion for children and I know how to work with them and connect with them on their level. I know what appeals to them and I love nothing more than spending time with them and learning new things from them. I love the interaction and relationships I can build with them. I do appreciate their innocence and purity. I enjoy watching children grow and develop into their person with the help of those around them and this goes back to Vygotsky’s Zone of Proximal Development theory that children learn and gain knowledge from their social environment and other knowledgeable adults around them.

I love reading and doing outdoor activities such as hiking or doing trail runs. I love art and the beauty behind it. I love traveling although I never have before. I love arts and crafts and vintage themes. At the end of each year, I like to go to Child Welfare and spend time with the children as well as take clothes or toys for them.
