Dear Family,
My name is Agnes. I am a 28year-old (female) currently living in Pretoria where I am searching for employment, I actually come from Zimbabwe from a small town called Kadoma.
I am an only child. My mom is self employed my father died when I was less than a year old.
I am a certified home based carer, I also studied how to care for patients with dimentia and also have a first aid level 1 qualification. I did 3 months practicals with Phyllis ROBERTSON Home for the disabled, reference is available on request.
My first language is, of course, Shona and I am also fluent in English. I started learning English in primary school, and it was also the language of instruction in the secondary school I attended. I have in addition been taking courses taught in English at college where I attained a diploma in Journalism and communication. I also hold a certificate for TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) there my English is very good.
When it comes to child care experience, I have an almost 2 year old son that I am raising up, I have looked after children in both formal and informal contexts. Among others, I provided after-school tuition to children aged between 5 to 10. I also organized for them and took part in recreational indoor and outdoor activities: we sang, danced, played games, role played, drew, painted, and narrated stories.
I have helped my cousin look after her two kids since birth. I was much more involved in caring for them on a daily basis as she spent most of the time working. I can comfortably say that I sincerely enjoy spending time with children. I also have worked for 2 ladies as referenced since I got to South Africa both of them had children.
When it comes to leisure, I take pleasure in the simple things in life. I enjoy being outdoors, being with my friends, going for walks, visiting places I have not been to, and reading a good book. Did I already mention that I love to read and write? At my college I used to write a monthly article, for the students' magazine. I also serve as an editorial committee member for the magazine.
As far as preferences are concerned, I am looking for a live out arrangement with a host family, that would be happy to have me s work for them for at least 6 months.
I would be happy to have the opportunity to speak with you: to answer whatever questions you may have about me or my childcare experiences; to learn more about your family; your interests and to know more about what you expect from the au pair arrangement.
Thank you very much for your interest in my application!
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours Sincerely,
Agnes M
