"Dear Family" message

I am Marilise L, I studied Education at the university of the Free State (UFS) for three years. My home language is Afrikaans but I am fairly bilingual. I have two younger sisters of which the youngest is 18 years old. I am planning to complete my studies through UNISA, therefore I need employment to fund my studies and to keep me occupied. I matriculated from Hangklip High School in Queenstown, Eastern Cape and currently resides with my parents in Paarl.

Why I would make the perfect au pair

I already have completed close to three years of my Education degree and would be able to assist children with their studies. I also have completed Grade 4 at UNISA in piano studies. I enjoy being with people of all ages and would be in a position to contribute to their lives. I am a diabetic and therefore have good knowledge of dietary requirements for low carbohydrate diet and could therefore instill good eating habits.

Hobbies and other interests

I enjoy reading, listening to music and I am a keen hockey spectator. I used to play hockey for my school and at university. I also enjoy watching movies and being in the outdoors.

Job description

I fetched the girls from school and drove them home and also made sure they arrived on time at their various extramural activities. I made them lunch and also sometimes started dinner when required. I helped the youngest (grade 7) with homework and assignments and assisted her with the summarizing of her work. I had to do shopping for the family as well.
