Why I would make the perfect au pair

Previous experience looking after children include my roles as an au pair, ski rep and hockey coach. During my university years I gained experience as an au pair, taking care of a 3-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl. My responsibilities included school pickups, organising and supervising activities, dinners and bath times. I developed a strong bond with the children and their parents. The 18 months spent with the children taught me the importance of patience, reinforcing positive behaviour, stimulation and encouraging creativity when interacting with children. As a ski rep in Italy and France, I had the opportunity to teach the children how to ski on the bunny slopes. This experience honed my communication skills and taught me how to break down complex tasks into manageable steps, ensuring that each child learned at their own pace while having fun on the slopes. Additionally, my role as a hockey coach at under 14 level further developed my abilities. I was responsible for planning and implementing practice sessions, overseeing travel to and from matches, fostering teamwork and sportsmanship among players, and providing instruction to help each child improve their skills and confidence on the sports field. I am particularly drawn to the flexibility that au pairing offers, as it will allow me to continue to oversee my business (with my mom's assistance as she has recently retired and I'd like to keep her busy), while also providing me with enriching experiences of a different nature and a supplementary income.
