Part time work as a private freelance tutor for children between the ages of 5 and 13. My responsibilities included managing the students time, guiding them through assigned work, regularly teaching new material or revising with a student for tests or upcoming classes. I often assisted with online classes when working with younger children. I occasionally created short lesson plans for difficult concepts and researched teaching methods for this purpose. I have experience working with neurodivergent students, specifically with ADHD, Dyslexia and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Introduction to families
Dear Family, My name is Mia, I am so excited to meet you. Both growing up and in recent years I have lived through many intentional hours looking after kids, and I never regret time spent making a memory or helping them work through a difficult moment. I have worked in a casual setting for many families with young children, and find myself leaving each experience feeling fulfilled. I have no doubt that time spent with your own little one/s -or even your teen/s - will be no different. And although it might not always be pleasant (no one likes homework), I strive to have a positive effect not only to their physical or educational lives but to their mental and emotional well-being. While I hope to be a fun and happy person to have around, I would take your trust in me very seriously and would treat it with the utmost respect. Thank you for your time.
I am the eldest child of 4, and have plenty of experience with the happy and not so happy sides of childcare and general Au Pair work in my daily life when living at home. I've become quite efficient at basic home-making, everyday errands and even gentle parenting when the moment calls for it. I would be an ideal candidate as a live-in Au Pair, as my home life often demands the same kind of responsibilities and tasks that you would hope to find from whomever you would choose to be a moving part of your home. I have a passion for health and nutrition, and have mastered a good number of recipes that have received the status of being child-approved. I have confidence that my knowledge of good food and healthy living would be a great addition to your daily lives. I highly value clear communication and will do my best to maintain a good professional relationship with you. That way we can comfortably discuss teaching/childcare styles or any issues we may encounter and work through them together. I hope we can come to such an understanding that drawing boundaries and addressing issues won't be an unpleasant experience, and we can leave any conversations of this nature feeling confident that we are better off for it.
When the weather permits, I enjoy hiking and spending time exploring nature. I'd love to discuss going on outdoor adventures along with your kid/s. Otherwise, I love to read, paint with gouache and learn about new topics such as languages and history. I love to experiment with new recipes and foods, and am currently learning to bake bread. I play piano, cello and a little bit of guitar. If any of these sound like something your family might enjoy spending more time doing, I'd be more than happy to work out activities to do together.

Mia is a calm, even tempered and open minded. She is well informed about healthy nutrition and engages with the children to include them with meal planning and cooking, in so doing teaching valuable life skills. She’s encouraging, up building in getting children to comply with good behaviour. She’s fun but hard working.
