Dear Host Family
My full name is Thea Louis M, I am currently 25 years old. I was born and brought up in South Africa, Durban In a area called Newlands West, the community I live in is fairly big and has lots of parks, a public Libary and also a publicly pool that all the kids love and go to and local shopping centers that we can visit and shop at. At home I live with my dad and step-mom, My step-mom is a stay at home wife and my dad is a truck driver and I only get to see him on weekends. I also have a brother and a step-brother, my step-brother just started his journey with his family, he has a little girl that is four years old, My big brother stays in a different part of SA and works for the water company in that area and has come along way on his journey of 9 years, I am really proud of them. My brothers and I like to go out often to the movies, beaches and have lots of fun at the game rooms even tho we might be this ages, we belive in spending time and having fun. After I was done with my final year of school, I planned on becoming a nurse which I currently obtain my CNA certficate in and worked in the feild for for sometime before leaving to USA in 2019 which then I met a greate family from seattle WA and lived with them for three years while taking care of their twins Aria and Jacob which was 2 and a half at the time and also their baby, Ruby which was 4 months old. The duities and responabilities I was given were bathing, changing, feeding, giving snacks, making breakfast and lunch, droping kids at school and picking them up, doing home work, arts and carfts going to parks and libaries, potty training, laundary for the kids, skill developments and physical fitness activities and sometimes getting them ready for bed also doing some light duitie house chorse. I really did enjoy it and it was an exciting experiences with this wonderful family. When I moved back in 2022 mid year I started to work part time as a nanny with the kids in my area there is mother and daughter that both have kids of there own and work a lot so I offered to help them with their kids, the duties I performed were bathing, changing, feed, playing games also depened how long they would need me for the day as well. The names of the kids were Inkanyezi he was 1 year and 2 months, Amukelani, she was 9 years old and Ntando which was 2 years old. In 2023 is started college at berea tech studing industrial and organzitionsal psychology for 2 years, In our second year we had to intern at an organizition which I did at a goverment hospital under the social worker department there. while at college I meet a good friend as well, which also has baby named zozey thats going to be turning 2 this year, I also helped in taking care of her on some weekends also bathing, changing, feeding, playing, skill development and going to the parks near by. My goal is to help the sickly and the people and children that need help. In my spear time I do take of kids as well as within my family, I feel children do grow towards me after seeing my funny and caring side. I also love meeting new people and learning about their ways and culture, I have very loving friends that supports me in everything that I do, I also have a huge family that I also get along with very well from old to young and giving them the respect that they need. |
