Introduction to families

"Dear Family" message

Dear Host Family, thank you for taking the time to read my letter. My name is Pamela Z and I am 25 years old. I am currently living with my mother, my 15 year old brother and my 28 year old brother in Cape Town. My dad lives in Johannesburg since his working as a truck driver and his job is more based that side, and I don’t see him regularly because of the distance and the hours he’s working. At the moment, I am job seeking while I am still trying to find ways to further my studies and get practicals in Maritime Studies. In my spare time, I love to hike if not spend some time in the kitchen. During school holidays, I help kids’ that I normally babysit with holidays assignments or project to have better understanding with what they’re doing at school. In between the study session, I’d entertain the children and we would have lots of fun playing hide and seek, playing board games, face paintings, colouring ins and many more games. Living with me is really easy as I am not a demanding person. I do respect that the house is your house and that I have follow your house rules and also keeping in my that I should take care of your house as I normally do at home, And I'll like to have an open conversation if there’s something wrong in the house or maybe the way you want.

Why I would make the perfect au pair

I would love to become your next Au Pair because I love children and enjoy spending time with them. I am prepared and I am well aware of the fact that being like a big sister for your children comes along with responsibilities for them and it will not always be just play and fun. My calm and patient personality will help me to master more difficult situations for instance when the kids are tired or don’t want to listen to me. I expect that in the first couple of days It will be a little bit uneasy to kids as I'll be a new person to the family but I promise that won't even last longer course of my personality and understanding the level of kids minds. And I am prepared to adapt to the new tasks and daily routine quickly and become a big help for you.

Hobbies and other interests

I also love outdoor activities, like hiking, cycling, swimming and going to food market to listen to live music and nice food and then some of the weekends I’d go to soup kitchen around my area to help them out with peeling and dishing out the food and do some entertainment for the young ones. So if there’s a charity around your areas too I’d like us to participate to give back to those who are in need and to teach your kids how to share the little that you have with others🥰.
