I am the founder of my tutoring club (Tsholanang's Tutoring Club) in which I am currently helping 50 full time students and around 60-70 non permanent students in subjects like, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English. I also create lesson plans tailored to each and every student of mine and as a result, 60% of my permanent students are in the ranges of 70%-90% across all subjects. The remaining 40%, achieved around 55%-59% in their examinations. I am a Physical Sciences tutor for Nathan, a grade 11 student studying in Johannesburg. I met up with him for one online lesson for 2 hours and he recently went from a 34% in Physical Sciences to achieving 88% all because of the one online lesson we had. I also have experience with taking care of children from infancy to 18 years old. I'm also well-versed in coming up with intellectually stimulating lessons and activities for children of all ages :)

Introduction to families
Dear Family. My name is Tsholanang Rakgotho and I am an au pair / caregiver as well as a tutor for students in grades 8-12 for Mathematics, Physical Sciences, English and Geography. I am a patient, loving and punctual person. I'm also a great cook and fun person to be around in general! I look forward to working with you and having pleasant experiences overall!
I find great joy in taking care of children when their parents have to fulfill work obligations and be absent from them for a while. I once read a study from Dr Vikek Murphy who gave a talk at Yale university that loneliness is far more severe than smoking and that was mind-boggling. That was when I decided to want to become an au pair at first because mental health is such a sensitive issue that I deeply resonate with. To counteract that, I have read up more on which activities reduce the likelihood of one being lonely and supplemented that with my own activities like baking and making healthy dishes with the children, designing our own games and really having an interest in the hobbies that those I was looking after had. I also want to become an au pair because I have a lot to share from my international travels and would like to pass on what I have learnt from other countries, including their ways of life, their national dishes and cultural similarities and differences. I think learning is not only fun when you have someone to narrate for you, but the humane experience behind that. So much of today's world is dissolved in social media and I am an advocate for physical and real life connections. The last but not least reason for why I want to become an au pair is that I am not only invested in a person's one aspect which is mainly being taken care of, but I like to diverge in other areas as well like social, academic and mental. A recent experience of mine is from a grade 11 student Nathan, whom I tutored Physical Sciences for a day, came with academic challenges, but after talking to him for about 2 hours before starting with our lesson, we both came to a realisation that he was performing not the way he wanted at school because he was scared of his teacher and would not ask questions in class. I then became a friend to him and explained things to him like a friend would and with motivation for the next two days, he then told me that he got 88% for the test and is no longer fearful of his teacher nor his books. In conclusion, I would say that being an pair, taught me that you should not be stagnant in one area but help where you can.
I like cooking and baking healthy meals. I like solving puzzles and spending time outdoors.

8 months old, 2 years old & 6 years old. Genders: females and male.
I was responsible for taking care of them from Monday to Friday, occasionally on weekends too. The 8 month year old was not attending preparation school, so she was in my care for most of the day. The 2 year old was attending pre school and I was responsible for preparing her in the mornings to take her to pre school and collecting her at 3pm. The 6 year old had a driver taking him to school every morning and I had to get him ready as well as making lunch for him. I was in charge of meal preparation, entertainment and light house cleaning for the family.
