Description of tutoring experience
I au paired as a student in my early twenties with a family for 2 or 3 years with a single mom becoming the default parent and helping her and the housekeeper run the household. My primary role was to help with homework and take the girls to extra activities or meeting with friends. I would also tutor and prep them for tests or exams.

Introduction to families
"Dear Family" message
Hi Mom & Dad (or Mom and Mom and Dad and Dad) My name is Mandy and I've recently resigned from lecturing Psychology to Education, Law and Social Science students to work in a space that allows me to apply my experience more intimately and one on one with children where I can have a direct impact. I've spent over a decade in education from teaching pre-school to primary and high school and most recently university level students with a focus on those studying education. In this space I learnt so much about the schooling system and the requirement for a changing school system to adapt to the technological-centred world we find ourselves in and the diversity of intelligence in children without sacrificing their emotional and mental well-being.
Why I would make the perfect au pair
I am passionate about well-being and development, and have spent the last seven years teaching on inclusive and diverse classrooms as well as leadership in the corporate space. I am passionate about conscious parenting and supporting the idea that it really takes a village to raise children and building sustainable relationships to not only support children, but empower parents in the process. I have a diverse array of work experiences that I believe will make me a valued member of any family I join.
Hobbies and other interests
Yoga, mindfulness, reading, curriculum design and development, Neuroscience and epigenetics, wellness, art and creativity, hiking, running

Job description
As a contract lecturer my role was to cover modules on Childhood Development, Psychology, Inclusive Education, Criminology and come up with practical ways to demonstrate theory to real world challenges and classroom barriers. I am an avid learner and wildly curious so in 2017 gained permission to start playing with online learning before it became prominent during the pandemic. Subsequently I created curriculum for lecturers around the country to teach Psychology on all 8 of Varsity College's campuses
