Dear Family I Raeesah N believe to be self driven, responsible and reliable. I am a very patient, caring and loving individual who will go above and beyond for the children in my care. I have a strong passion for working with children, I am fun, energetic, engaging and I have great communication skills. I completed a 12 month course at a college that covered basic child care, as well as an NQF Level 4 in Early Childhood Development. I am first aid trained as well. I just recently returned from the United States of America where I was an au pair for 2 years and 4 months in total. I took care of the sweetest now 3 years old little girl. I have a good amount of experience working with children of different age groups and I feel like I learn something mew about them everyday, children have a way of making me feel better on any day and just being surrounded by them ultimately puts me in a better mood. To my future host family, I would be a great asset to your family and your kids will have loads of fun. To my future host kids, I aim to be like an older sister to you and I know we will have a lot of fun together.

Why I would make the perfect au pair

A good au pair is one who just does the basics of childcare, whereas a great au pair is one who goes above and beyond for the children and also the family. I feel that I will be a great au pair because I genuinely love children, I am adaptable which is one thing that is very important for the au pair and family dynamic. I am a person that takes initiative and I am very helpful. As per these reasons, I feel that I will be an outstanding caretaker for your kids.

Hobbies and other interests

A few of my hobbies are reading books, creative arts and crafts, solving puzzles, shopping, watching movies with family, going on picnics, I love going to the zoo and museums. I am not a very outgoing person but when I go out these are the things I love to do.

When I first started working my host kid was 8 months old, my duties at the time were to get her on track with her physical development as she was getting closer to walking, feeding, changing and bathing her. my duties has changed over time as she got older. I did weekly developmental activity planning (focusing on fine motor development/ gross motor development/ vocabulary acquisition/ hand eye coordination skills/cognitive development / pincer grip enhancement / numeracy / science experiments / creative arts) I planned and managed her play dates, this is one of my favorite things to do. I also meal planned and cooked daily meals for her. I washed and ironed her laundry as well, I did weekly toy rotation and always kept her play areas neat and tidy. This experience has helped me learn to be more adaptable, I have become better at communicating and keeping a respectful attitude. I grew to be even more patient and responsible.
