"Dear Family" message

Dear Host Family My name is Delmaine P. I am a confident, driven 25 year old who grew up in a small suburb, called Stanford in the Western-Cape, South Africa. There I live with my mother, father and younger brother who still attends school. I've always dreamed of situating myself in another part of the world, even if it's just for a while. I've matriculated in 2015, went off to study Social Auxiliary (which was to my liking not something that I want to pursue a career in). At that time I didn't really know as to what I would like to do with my life, to be honest. In 2018-2019 I studied Human Resources Management, with the hopes that it would be something that I would grow fond of. In the search of getting a placement where I could finish the practical component of my HR-Diploma (with no luck), I ended up looking after a boy (who was 3 weeks old at that time) on a daily. I grew so fond of him, having a hand in a child's upbringing and watching them grow is just a JOYOUS feeling. From feeding, bathing, playing and just bonding with him, made me realize how much I really love children. I would go out of my way to ensure that all their basic needs are taken care of, and just them knowing and having that feeling, that no matter what's on their mind, they could share it and not feel judged at all. I also worked at my local primary school as a Teacher Assistant for four months. There I had hands on experience with children from the ages of 9-12 on a daily. Assisting them with anything, such as their homework, supervising and just someone they can vent to, overall. It's fair to say that I have enough experience to form part of your family and helping you out in any way possible. From March of 2022, I had the opportunity to live in San Francisco and work for a family as their Au Pair and it has been a bliss ever since. I gained a new family and a lifelong friend whose name is Albert and he was just a chunky, adorable 5 month old when I met him. As I am making my way back home after two memorable years with them, I'm looking for a new family I can call my own. I would love to become your Au Pair, simply because I ADORE children. It would also give me the opportunity to embrace a different side of the country, and learning different culture sets. Looking forward to matching and experience a eventful year or more with you guys!!

A good Au Pair has common sense and courtesy. They also have the ability to communicate openly and effectively. Whereas for me, I am in possession of the same characteristics of a good one, it's just that I go the extra mile by doing my work exceptionally well and full of passion.
