"Dear Family" message

Dear Family I cannot wait to be a part of your family. I am currently finishing up my second year as an au pair in the US. It has definitely been two years of growth and I gained a ton of life experience! If there is one thing I’ve learned in my time as an au pair in the US is that I absolutely love spending my time with kids. I'm 23 years old. I was raised in a beautiful small town called Jeffrey's Bay in the Eastern Cape province. Jeffrey's Bay is well-known for it's big waves and great surfing locations, but I'm not a surfer myself. In 2017 I graduated high school and started studying Game Ranch Management at the Nelson Mandela University the year after. I chose to study Game Ranch Management because of the love I have for the wild animals in South Africa and the environment they live in. In my 3rd year of studies I worked at Lalibela Game Reserve for my practical year. In my practical student year in 2020 I had the amazing opportunity to get involved with our community kids project. Once or twice a week we would go to cook for a group of about 50 children. We would also do some activities with them that includes reading, coloring, playing netball, playing with clay dough and lego's and many other fun activities that children between the age of 2 to 10 would enjoy. After my studies I packed my bags and moved abroad to live with a wonderful American family with 2 girls. This family has become like family of my own. I cannot wait to meet you all!

Why I would make the perfect au pair

I think that I would make a great au pair for your kids and I have a lot to offer them. I have a lot of patience and lots of love for kids. I will always come up with new ideas to learn and to have fun. I would definitely see myself as reliable and responsible. Not only am I looking forward to caring for your kids, but to have a second family. I am hard working, dedicated, clean and very organized.

Hobbies and other interests

I am fortunate to come from a family that loves the outdoors just as much as I do. My family loves to come together, whether it's for a Sunday lunch, a camping trip, traveling or to visit South African game parks or game reserves. A few of my hobbies include cooking, baking, horse riding, reading, photography and spending time in the outdoors, whether its hiking, going for walks or going on game drives. I have developed a love for travel and trying new things!

Job description

I’m an au pair for this US family in Sacramento, California. My duties include making all the girls meals and snacks, doing their laundry, cleaning their rooms and picking up after them, driving them too and from school and other activities, helping them with homework, playing with them and taking them to other activities such as the zoo, ice skating, the movies etc. I also help to do general cleaning in the house and I help making dinners at night.
