Introduction to families
Dear Family, My name is Thabile P, a proud mother of 3. I have always been passionate about taking care of children and positively contributing to their upbringing. I consider myself to be a very compassionate, loving, kind and nurturing person, hence I have always taken the liberty to also raise some of my sister's kids when she was in need. I always ensure to form a holistic bond/relationships with the children I look after, which allows them the opportunity to see me as a safe space for them to share their emotions & thoughts about the day they had. Some of the parents and kids have maintained communication, even after I stopped working for them, which attests to my ability of caring about the work I do. I would describe myself as an open-minded, hard-working, easy going, dedicated and responsible person. I might be a little reserved at first, but that is not something that bothers at all, I am very flexible. Personally, I find that the safety, health and happiness of children are most the important things in their upbringing. I also have a sense of humor, love to laugh, but I'm serious when it comes to work and I promote fairness and honesty to those around me.
I have strong attributes of compassion, nurturing, caring and humility, these qualities have allowed me to care for the children I've worked with and allow me to also share in their lived experiences. Having worked as a au pair for almost 8 years, with different families, I have had the opportunity to interact with children of different emotional needs and what has really stood out for me was my ability to cater of each family's needs in a way that promotes functionality and ease. Being a mom and a mother figure to many, I have over the years developed the ability to mold and promote holistic development in a child, while allowing them the opportunity to 'self-learn' various soft skills during our engagements. I pride myself of being able to form lasting bonds with those I care for and interact with, which also attests to my ability to relate with different individuals. I love children and having the ability to contribute to their upbringing in a positive way blesses me. I'd make a perfect au pair because I believe in caring for children, providing them with a solid support system and also sharing in their loved experiences allows them to be better versions of themselves each day, hence I strive to promote a nurturing and safe environment in my work with them. I am also able to easily adapt into being the extended part of a new family and share in their culture & values, whilst respecting the boundaries the parents have in place. Having raised children, I believe I have been able to understand different personalities and stages that a child can potentially go through and then alter my parenting according to their needs. This has also helped me in my previous jobs, as I was able to interact with the children in a way that makes them feel safe, loved and cared for. I am easy to talk to and a good listener. I am also eager to learn, study and broaden my knowledge. The qualities I consider to be most important in my life and that of my family is self-respect, respect to others and humility. I like to work with people but am also responsible enough to work on my own after proper training. I love working with children and therefore find it easy to relate and engage with them.
