Hi! I'm Courtney. I'm a part-time Montessori Kindergarten teacher who teaches English, Mathematics, Art and Theme. I also teach Practical life. I was trained by the principal on how to teach and have done a course on Catechism teaching. I have previously worked as a Catechism teacher, before that I was a Catechism Teaching Assistant.. I am TEFL certified. I want to become an Au Pair or nanny because I enjoy being children and would love to be of assistance to a family. I'm a neat person who doesn't have a problem cleaning or occasionally cooking. I believe I'm qualified for this position because of my experience with teaching children and having to take on whole classes at a time.

Why I would make the perfect au pair

I haven't worked as Au Pair or nanny professionally before however I have worked as a catechism teacher's assistant and then went on to become a catechism teacher. During that time I taught children from the age of five up to 14. I was an assistant for one year as a young teenager but was a teacher for roughly 2 years. I grew from that experience and learned some skills on how to especially reach out and teach children from five to nine years old. This later helped me get a job professionally in a Montessori preschool. I was asked to fill in for a teacher for a week because there was a teacher shortage. Using the skills I acquired during catechism teaching I impressed the principal and was given a permanent position as a part-time teacher focusing on Mathematics, English and General Knowledge (Themes). During this experience I had to teach children who spoke languages I didn't how to speak and teach them English. I'm currently studying a bED in foundation Phase course to become the best possible teacher.

Hobbies and other interests

I'm an artistic and creative type of person. I find myself often described at enthusiastic. I find myself especially comfortable around children and love to joke around with them. I practiced recorder for ten years and although not professionally taught I can play a little piano. I can be a bookworm at times especially at night and enjoy having intellectual conversations about movies, series or books I've read. After being an Au Pair or nanny I'd like to study psychology or go back into teaching professionally.
