"Dear Family" message

Dear Family, I completed an English Honours degree and Humanities undergraduate degree (specialising in English Literature and Psychology) at UCT in 2022 and 2020 respectively. I am currently seeking aupair work after having worked in performance marketing, interior design, and luxury travel and event management. I am on sabbatical to determine my career path. I have eleven years of experience in babysitting, tutoring, and house- and pet-sitting, with a regular set of clients. I aupaired for a wonderful family in April 2023 to provide them with support during the school holidays. It was a very fulfilling role and I enjoyed my time with the children immensely. I have dual citizenship status (British and South African) and I have experience with travel, domestic and abroad. Both my South African and British passports are valid as of January 2024.

I would be suited to work for your family and care for your children as I am highly responsible, organised, time conscious, and a friendly and kind individual in my role as child-carer. I have a positive attitude and prioritise safe child-care and driving behaviours, and clear, up-to-date communication with my aupair family. I appreciate the importance of family values and will undertake all child-care in line with such values when the child is in my care. I have my own private vehicle with a valid driver's license and valid car license. I do not smoke, nor do I have any tattoos or visible piercings. I do not have a criminal record.

Hobbies and other interests

I enjoy Pilates, reading books, writing poetry, nature-based activities, cooking and baking. I have picked up my German again and aim to speak it proficiently by year-end. I offered temporary aupairing services for two children in 2023. I collected the children from school, lifted them to and from extra-mural activities, assisted in homework supervision, general supervision for play-dates and assisted in weekend lifting to and from activities and appointments.
