"Dear Family" message

Hello Family :) My name is Lereko M, 23 years old from Vanderbijl, South Africa and I want to be your au pair. So here's a little more about me. Most people call me Aunty Nina, some just call me Lee. My experience with children goes far beyond the hours I have spent in these few years and holds more weight and memories than most. I have always been more of an introvert yet I was always surrounded, comfortable and happy around kids. My brothers, well I mean my nephews have been a great impact in my life and play such a big role in who I am today. Being your au pair will not only allow me to continue to be who I am but also help me grow in myself and become the best version of myself for you, your family and the one I decide to build one day. As someone who is responsible, reliable, pays attention to detail and takes well to instruction I believe we could be a perfect match and I'm pretty sure your kids will love me too, I mean I am an adventurous person with an active and spontaneous personality. I love doing outdoor activities and keeping my hands busy. I am also a active person who played sports and participated in athletics when I was younger. I still play netball with my sister's staff club. But hey I enjoy a good walk in the park too or the beach (I love the ocean!). Oh and did I mention that I am also First Aid Child and Baby CPR certified? I also took an Advanced Childcare Course with the American Red Cross Association this year, but we can chat more about that later. Being part of your family will be something I'll cherish and excel in as I want to have my own family one day to share my life and its experiences, experiences I'll have with you. Being able to help out parents that need assistance in childcare is one of the reasons I want to be an au pair as I can imagine that working and providing for your family can become strenuous at times. However, I believe having a helping hand is always a blessing - a blessing in which I wish to be for you and your children.

Why I would make the perfect au pair

I am a good listener with a patient ear for children who are still developing and learning how to speak, not only am I good listener for the children but I listen and act on what is being said by parents as well. I take instruction well which is a great attribute in this line of work. I am an open person when it comes to conflict resolution and would like to make sure that there is always understanding between myself and others. I love being with and around kids and also keeping a neat and tidy area to prevent any harm to the kids. I have always wanted to have a younger sibling and believe that I can be like an older sister as well as a friend for your children. I have no other obligations which allow me to have a flexible work schedule. I love outdoor activities which I believe would be a bonus for me and your children. I love cooking and baking which can be fun for children to take part in.

Hobbies and other interests

I like outdoor activities like hiking and taking walks. I play netball and other activities that keep me active. I am interested in broaden my knowledge of natural african hair and often braid and do my niece and sisters' hair. I like painting and colouring with children to inspire my creativity.
