Introduction to families

"Dear Family" message

Dear Family My name is Kimberley C, but most people refer to me as Kim or Kimi. I am currently 24 years old and I have just completed my course of a bachelor degree of education at Varsity College. This is not something you hear very often, however I really enjoy school and love to challenge myself through learning new things, especially when it comes to the subjects I most enjoy. I would consider myself to be a kind-hearted and caring person. I love to help others and be a friend to everyone when needed. I especially love being there for children when they don’t understand something or are upset. I am also very hardworking and dedicated as I like to get things done. I am a fast learner and can adjust to change easily.

Why I would make the perfect au pair

I would make a perfect aupair as I have a lot of childcare experience mainly through being the oldest of all the children in the family. I have had to often help my mother with caring for my twin brother and sister since they were just little infants. My duties ranged from preparing meals, reading stories to them, playing games to taking them to school and overall supervision. I have experience with au-pairing as I au-paired in America from 2018 to 2019 where I cared for two boys of the ages 4 and 7. I have also been involved in the children’s youth at my church where I worked with a group of children of the ages 10 to 13 years old every Friday. My duties with them varied from mentoring, teaching them about their faith, leading a group of children in prayer or in fun activities and general supervision. I have also taken part in holiday clubs and youth camps during my free time in the school holidays. Here I care for groups of children as well between 2 and 13 years old. I have also worked as a swimming instructor assistant at a swim school for kids from the ages of between 18 months and 5 years old. During the year of 2023 I was able to gain more experience with children as I au paired for a family and assisted with kids of 13 and 16 years old by transporting them from school to their extra activities as well as assisted with homework. I truly enjoy being with and around children. They bring out pure joy in me and I have a true passion for them. Being a part of these experiences showed me that I definitely would like to work with children in the future and continue to transform lives with our future generations. The main reason I would like to be an au pair is because I am truly passionate about caring and working with children.

Hobbies and other interests

I have a few interests and hobbies which include field hockey, squash, cricket, singing, drawing and painting, photography, scrapbooking, writing and playing the keyboard. I also really love being outside in nature, going on adventures and I am always open to trying new activities or sports. I also like watching movies and spending time with my friends.
