"Dear Family" message

Dear Family, my name is Tayla G and I can’t wait to meet you! My mother studied to be a teacher which is why she decided to do homeschooling with myself and my three young siblings. I have always been enthusiastic and hard working, so instead of waiting I decided to finish my matric at 17. Being homeschooled had some challenges as everything was very much self-taught, but it also taught me dedication, commitment, hard work, time management and self-studying methods. Just after my 18th I left my family and home in Gauteng to start my studies in Cape Town. I am very passionate about helping people, especially children, which is why I decided to study Psychology. My plan is to pursue equine assisted therapy, which is using horses to specifically help people with special needs/disorders as well as trauma.

Why I would make the perfect au pair

Due to being homeschooled, I have some knowledge on creative teaching techniques, as well as access to resources and my mommy’s helpful expertises😉. In 2022 I completed my degree in psychology which has covered a lot about the stages of a child’s physical, psychological, and emotional development. Last year I also joined Equitots (therapy and teaching with horses) and completed their mentorship program. I love working with children, so at 16 I applied to be a camp facilitator. I was fortunate enough that after the training they offered me the position. I worked at Youth For Christ campsite for almost 3 years but had to leave in order to start my studies in Cape Town.

Hobbies and other interests

I love adventure and nature, horse riding, playing guitar, singing, reading, cooking, health/fitness and photography. I suppose a bit of everything and I always enjoy learning something new! I can’t wait to bake, paint, go on scavenger hunts and beach visits, play, learn, and grow together with you and your child/ren.
