Introduction to families
Let me introduce myself. My name is Maureen, and I am 29 years old, born on 26 November 1991. I live in Gauteng, Vanderbijlpark area. I would describe myself as an open minded and flexible person in situations that arise when working with children and parents. I am very attentive and because of my experience and occupational therapy degree I could be a perfect fit for any family. My family is quite small, but we are close, that is why I value the precious moments that is experienced by spending time together. My mother is blind, but she is such an amazing woman. I have learnt a lot in my life in every aspect and its easy for me to put myself I someone else's shoes. My father is also a wonderful person, hardworking but highly creative. In fact, I grew up in a very musical family. My younger sister is studying to become a teacher, and she will be so great at it. We have had so many pets, and I absolutely adore all animals. I am not married and also do not have children. I am willing to stay in or out and to relocate. Even though I am a Christian I am not at all bothered or judgmental of other religions and traditions and will never force my beliefs onto anyone. to be honest I love learning about other cultures and beliefs, it is a passion of mine. It has been a pleasure introducing myself to you.
I might just be exactly what your family needs. I can communicate openly and effectively about the important things, I am able to think ahead, take initiative, and be proactive with the decisions that need to be made. I love children, and love bringing out the creative and fun side when I am around them. This also helps me in developmental play with each child and is where my degree will be ab absolute plus. I have had many experiences in working and spending time with children It is important to me that while the family is not there to teach responsibility. manners, values. Somehow, I always end up spending my time with children when there are gatherings. I am patient, kind and will be able to fulfil my role with passion. From creating development play schedules, making sure they eat well and get enough outdoor time, I am also able to motivate, teach and tutor your child to the best of my ability. I am very honest, and I treasure it when a family and au pair can have a good relationship and healthy communication skills. if you would like references, please do not hesitate to ask. I can tutor and help with all subjects, and I also had pre-calculus on university level.
Anything creative (reading, writing, drawing, crochet, needle work, gardening) I also love taking walks and spending time with my dogs and love being in nature. I love knowledge and are constantly busy reading up on multiple topics, such as human psychology, animal psychology, nature science, anything I find interesting for the mood I am in. Every year I try to learn a new skill or do something that I have never done before. For 2021 I have been trying to catch up on another language, but it is difficult when there isn't anyone to practice with, none the less I am flexible and believe that the unknown will present itself and I might just end up learning something completely different.

3 boys from ages 2 and up (they are all grown up now)
Not only did I work for the family part time, I also worked at a a pre-primary school called Tjokkies in Bloemfotein for 2 years as afternoon teacher, while studying. I have worked for other families too, looking after boys and girls, age ranges from 2 to 15. My roles included baby sitting, making sure they eat, keep them safe, sensory and developmental play, and schedule structuring. every family is different and I find it important to adapt to the family and the children's needs. At the Military hospital I also spent 6 months with children. doing evaluations, school readiness, I worked with special needs children, (CP, behavioral issues, Autism spectrum), and sometimes had to get the parents involved. I kept record of their progress and tailor made each session to suit their specific needs. and I loved everything about it. Please feel free to ask for more references.
