Michelle is a loyal,, responsible, reliable, kind and caring au pair. She demonstrated all these qualities in the period she was working with us. She was a second mother to my children, they loved her. An added advantage was that her children and mine are the same age so she understood them and cared for them as her own. They became free and comfortable to talk to her. Michelle would inform me if there would be any concern or change she would notice from them. My daughter was a hockey player and my son a soccer player, they were very busy. There would be times when the schedule would change unexpectedly regarding their extra mural activities etc. and Michelle never complained, she would try her best to adjust her times accordingly or She would even ask her husband at that time to assist if she couldn't make it. We are of a different race to her and I liked her adaptability, respect and understanding of our culture. She's trustworthy and dedicated. I met Michelle in 2018 and amazingly, I am still in contact with her, we formed a bond, she is still interested in my children's well being, who are now 22 and 18 Yrs old. They call her aunty' Michelle and they still have her contact numbers and know that she's a call away if they may need her assistance one day. I regard this type of a job as a "work-family-personal relationship job" and emphasise on openness, communication, communication and communication, trust and confidentiality because an au pair gets to be involved very closely with your children and gets to be part of the whole family.
