Introduction to families
Dear Family, My name is Angelique, and I am writing to tell you a little about myself and the type of family I am hoping to Au pair for. First and foremost, I have a beautiful 2 and a half year old daughter. I have completed my BA Degree in Applied Psychology and my Post Graduate Certificate in Education Intermediate phase. I am also trained in various special needs courses through the Neuro Diversity Centre as I have a passion for working with special needs children, as well as neurotypical children. I am planning to finish my Honours Degree in 2026 which will be part time studying, not to interfere with my workload. When it comes to child care experience, I have looked after children in both formal and informal contexts and have years of Au Pair, tutoring, home schooling assistance, home based behavioural therapy and school facilitation experience. My Specialization in Educational Psychology is the focus on Developmental Disorders. My most recent experience was an Intermediate Educator at Curro Century City. I am now looking to be employed (preferably long term) by a loving family while I focus on finishing my studies up to my Doctoral Degree. I am very devoted to the family I will be working for. I am extremely passionate about working with children and have a lot of patience, especially when it comes to kids who need a little extra help and attention. As far as preferences are concerned, I am looking for a stay-out or stay-in arrangement family, that would be happy to have me working for them for at least 12 months or longer. I would be happy to have the opportunity to speak with you and to answer whatever questions you may have about me or my childcare experiences, to learn more about your family, your interests and to know more about what you expect from the au pair arrangement. Thank you very much for your interest in my application! I look forward to hearing from you. Kind Regards, Angelique
I am a trained ABA Behavioural Therapist and have extensive experience in working with children on the Autism Spectrum and Related Disorders. I am very good at what I do when it comes to looking after, caring for and teaching children. I can comfortably say that I sincerely enjoy spending time and caring for children. It is a passion of mine. I love to help children to accomplish their hopes, dreams and goals. I am also good at teaching children new stuff, like swimming, drawing, reading and counting, in a fun, yet educational manner.
Playing piano, nature, outdoor activities, art related activities, cooking, reading, playing and caring for animals, educational games etc.

I was working as a Behavioural Therapist doing ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis) Therapy with all of the above children, ages ranging from 18 months to 18 years old. All of these children are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Down Syndrome and one little 2 year old girl was diagnosed with Mitochondrial Disease. Each child had a specific and unique programme worked out for them and I did home therapy sessions with the children which consisted of ABA Therapy, feeding, nappy changing, dressing, potty training, speech therapy etc.

My main focus was on the 11 year old girl. Fetch her from school (occasionally fetch her two brothers from High School). Take to extra mural activities. Take her to appointments. Teach her to keep a balanced schedule like getting homework done in time, studying for the day and her dancing, while still making some time for leisure/break time. Make lunch/snacks for her and her brothers. Help her packing for camps and overnight stays. Occasional evening babysitting/weekend sitting. My husband and I would take the kids to the movies or wherever they wanted to go if their parents wanted a night alone. My reason for leaving was due to relocating to Cape Town.

4 year old disabled girl
I have started working part time with this family since the pandemic and I was fortunate enough to be employed permanently by them to care for their 4 year old disabled girl with Rett Syndrome. At the time I started working with her she had just turned 2 years old. She is very dear to my heart and I am devastated that I unfortunately to leave my current position. Due to constant heavy lifting of all her equipment and herself for the past 2 years, I have developed tendonitis in my wrist, and unfortunately need surgery in my wrist. Because of this, I am unable to carry on caring for her, as she needs constant care and requires to be picked up, transported to her therapies with her wheelchair etc. All of this has put a massive strain on my wrist. My daily routine with her consisted of the following: Fed her breakfast, lunch and dinner, with snacks in between. She is still bottle fed with water and has a nap daily. Fed her bottle and napped her, change of nappies. Bathed her in a special
