Introduction to families
My name is Danielle, and I recently moved to Pretoria to pursue my dream of becoming a doctor. I am currently in my first year of medical school at the University of Pretoria. Before this, I completed my first degree in 2022, and between 2022–2025 I worked as an au pair while preparing and applying for medical school. During that time, I had the privilege of working with a wonderful family in Johannesburg, where I gained valuable experience caring for children of different ages. After being accepted at Tuks, I relocated to Lynnwood to continue my studies, but my love for working with children remains strong. I would describe myself as hardworking, reliable, and well-organized. I manage my time effectively and bring care, patience, and enthusiasm to everything I do. Most importantly, I have a genuine passion for children, and I enjoy creating a safe, nurturing, and fun environment for them to learn and grow. I look forward to the opportunity of getting to know your family and supporting you in providing the best care for your children.
I believe I would make the perfect au pair because I combine genuine care for children with strong responsibility and time management skills. Through my previous experience as an au pair, I learned how to balance children’s daily routines—preparing meals, assisting with homework, organizing playtime, and ensuring their safety and well-being. I enjoy engaging children in fun and educational activities, from storytelling and board games to helping them develop healthy habits. What sets me apart is my dedication, patience, and passion. I am currently studying medicine, which reflects my hardworking nature and commitment to caring for others. I am organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple responsibilities, which makes me reliable in supporting both children and parents. Most importantly, I truly enjoy spending time with children and creating a warm, nurturing environment where they feel safe, valued, and happy. My goal as an au pair is not only to assist with daily tasks but also to become a positive influence and role model in their lives.
I enjoy horse riding, swimming, going to the gym, and spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking. I also volunteer at my church as a barista, where I enjoy connecting with people and serving my community. I’m adventurous and a bit of an adrenaline enthusiast—I love trying new things, exploring new places, and embracing challenges.
