Introduction to families
"Dear Family" message
Dear Family, My name is Megan, and I’m so excited at the possibility of becoming a part of your family as an au pair. I am a caring, responsible, and enthusiastic individual with a strong passion for working with children. I bring not only experience in childcare, but also a deep appreciation for cultural exchange and the importance of nurturing safe, supportive environments for young people to thrive. I’ve worked with children in various settings, from tutoring and mentoring to volunteer projects focused on emotional development and play-based learning. I believe in engaging with children through creativity, patience, understanding and in supporting families by becoming a reliable and positive presence in the home. I would love the opportunity to learn about your family, culture, and routines, and to share my own in return. Thank you for considering me as a part of your journey!
Why I would make the perfect au pair
I believe I would make the perfect au pair because I combine a genuine love for working with children with responsibility, empathy and a deep understanding of child development. I have experience supporting children of various ages, including those with unique needs and I always aim to create a warm, structured and fun environment where children feel safe, valued and encouraged to grow. I am currently pursuing a career in psychology, which has strengthened my ability to connect with children, understand their emotions and communicate with sensitivity and patience. I’m also organised, proactive and happy to help with daily routines, homework, and creative play. I value open communication with parents and always strive to be dependable, respectful and adaptable. What truly excites me about being an au pair is the opportunity to build meaningful bonds with a family, learn about your culture and share my own in return. I don’t just want to be a caregiver I want to be a positive influence and a supportive presence in your children’s lives. I also have an incredible love for learning and I feel like I am able to develop this in the children I work with. Learning to me is a privilege and opportunity to grow in my passions and I hope to reinforce this in your children.
Hobbies and other interests
I’m a naturally curious and creative person and my hobbies reflect that! I love painting, drawing and doing other arts and crafts, especially when I get to involve kids in fun, hands-on projects. I also enjoy reading (especially psychology and fantasy books), listening to music, and spending time outdoors. Nature walks and exploring new places are some of my favorite ways to unwind. Fitness and wellness are important to me. I enjoy going to the gym and staying active and I believe in balancing physical and mental well-being. I’m also passionate about learning and I’m currently working toward becoming a psychologist, so I love anything that helps me grow as a person or deepen my understanding of others. In my downtime, I also love PC gaming. I find it’s a great way to relax, be creative and even connect with others. I enjoy story-rich games and cooperative ones that challenge my mind and reflexes. Lastly, I’m a big animal lover and have a few pets at home, so spending time with animals always brings me joy. Whether it's being creative, staying active, gaming, or just enjoying quiet moments, I always try to bring a positive and balanced energy to everything I do.
