Description of tutoring experience
I have over three years of tutoring experience across a range of age groups and subjects. From 2021 to 2022, I tutored a family member in Grade 10–11, providing comprehensive support in all subjects, including exam preparation and homework assistance. In 2023, I tutored a Grade 8 student following the IEB curriculum, offering academic support across all subjects with a strong focus on study skills and exam readiness. Additionally, I tutored a 4-year-old English-speaking preschooler in Afrikaans, helping to build foundational language skills in a fun and engaging way.

Introduction to families
"Dear Family" message
Dear Family, My name is Tiani, I am currently an online student at Rosebank College, studying towards my Bachelor's degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. Over the past few years, I’ve gained a variety of experiences that have shaped me into a responsible, caring, and capable individual—especially when it comes to childcare. After graduating high school in 2020, I took a gap year in 2021 due to medical reasons, but I’m now completely healthy. In 2022, I worked as a stock regulator, and in 2023, I had the wonderful opportunity to work as an au pair for two boys aged 4 and 14. During that time, I also assisted my host family with financial tasks in their family business. I continued working remotely in this role through 2024 while also taking a year to care for my mother after her leg amputation. Now in 2025, I’m seeking to return to a role that brought me great fulfillment—being an au pair. I truly enjoyed my time as an au pair and felt deeply connected to the children and the role. I’m excited about the opportunity to support a new family, bring care and joy into your home, and create lasting memories with your children. Warm regards, Tiani
Why I would make the perfect au pair
I believe I would make the perfect au pair because I bring both experience and passion to the role. I have cared for children of different ages, including a young boy with therapy needs and a teenager navigating school pressures. I’m reliable, patient, and well-rounded, with a strong sense of responsibility. My previous au pair experience involved school pick-ups, homework help, playtime, therapy support, and even pet care. I also tutored a young boy in Afrikaans, helping him build confidence and language skills. I’ve shown adaptability, dedication, and compassion not only in childcare but also in family support roles such as financial administration. Most importantly, I genuinely enjoy nurturing children and being part of their learning and development journey.
Hobbies and other interests
I have a wide range of hobbies that reflect my creative and active nature. I love animals and enjoy taking dogs for walks. Music is a big part of my life—I play a bit of piano and guitar. I’m also passionate about drawing, reading, and writing, especially during quiet moments. Recently, I’ve taken an interest in fitness and have started going to the gym regularly as part of my personal health journey. These interests not only keep me balanced and energized, but also allow me to connect with children in engaging and imaginative ways.
