Introduction to families
Dear Host Family, My name is Preshanti M and I am excited about the opportunity to connect with your family, especially your children. For the past five years, I have been working as an au pair in the United States and England. These experiences have deepened my passion for working with children and making a meaningful impact on their lives. I am dedicated to helping guide and teach children, fostering their growth, and supporting their development in a nurturing and positive environment. I would love the chance to get to know your family and learn how I can contribute to your household.
Why I Would Make the Perfect Au Pair My journey as an au pair began in 2020 when I was young, eager for new experiences, and driven by a desire to make a difference. I was matched with a wonderful family in California—four children and a single mother who had tragically lost their father to cancer just a year before my arrival. While this was an incredibly challenging situation, especially during an international lockdown, it became one of the most transformative experiences of my life. Through this role, I discovered my deep passion for working with children and developed a strong sense of patience and empathy. I helped the family establish structure and provided emotional support during a difficult time, guiding the children as they navigated their grief and helping them find joy in their daily lives. Despite the challenges, I cherished every moment with them and will always hold that family close to my heart. Since then, I have grown more confident in my ability to connect with children, balancing playfulness with structure and ensuring their well-being and happiness. I believe I would be a great addition to your family because of my extensive experience, my ability to bring positivity and warmth into the home, and my commitment to creating a supportive and loving environment. Additionally, I take pride in maintaining a clean and organized space, and I’m not a bad cook either! I would be honored to share my skills, energy, and care with your family.
When working for a family, I value feeling like a part of the household and enjoy creating a warm and supportive relationship. I thrive in a positive, family-oriented environment where we can share experiences and build meaningful connections. I love swimming, cooking, going on long walks, and organizing. With children, I enjoy engaging in fun activities such as painting, coloring, and playing indoor games. I also love taking kids outdoors for sports, exploring nature, or treating them to ice cream on warm days. I am certified in first aid and have completed newborn care training, ensuring that I can provide a safe and nurturing environment for children of all ages. In my spare time, I enjoy attending church, where I sometimes play the piano, as well as going to the movies or spending time with friends. I look forward to learning more about your family’s hobbies and interests and finding ways to share and enjoy those moments together.
