Introduction to families
My name is Mia V. I am a bubbly person, always up for a challenge and love trying out new things. I will appear a little shy at first, but once I have spend time with new people and have gotten to know them, I tend to be quite outgoing. I would like to elucidate on additional significant matters regarding this position. I own a car (Fiat 500), have a valid driver’s license and I have efficient childcare experience. I am quite confident in my childcare abilities. I enjoy working with children and I am quite patient and imperturbable when working with children. I am eager to acquire further experience and I am a quick learner. My life philosophy: A problem is merely a challenge.
To put it concisely- I will try my hardest to provide the necessary care that is required. I aim to influence people, especially children positively. I am known to be quite inspiring and have a way of motivating people to reach their potential and grow. I am currently doing a teaching course to fulfil my dreams of becoming a teacher/ tutor. It should be noted that I have previous childcare experience. I worked as an au pair/ nanny for a family of 5 from February 2023 until July 2023. My responsibilities ranged from driving the children around: 3, 5 and 7 years old and I worked full time every weekday from 8h until 17h. I had to prepare school lunches and help with the oldest child’s homework. I also did some light housework. I was employed as a full time Au Pair and tutor for a grade 6 student at Somerset College from January 2024 and until recently I was working as a full time homeschooling tutor for said student. I have attained significant experience during this period and I have full confidence in my abilities in this field of work. I would be more than happy to send you a copy of my Matric National Senior Certificate if necessary. I attended Bloemhof Girls High- a school that prioritise discipline and value honest work ethic and academic performance.
I am very interested in art & art history and I enjoy going to museums. History is my favourite subject at school and I love to study the past. The piano is my favourite instrument and I occasionally love to sing. I enjoy cooking and baking (also eating) and I see it as a challenge to cook/bake new and interesting dishes. Books are the most common thing you will find in my room aside from my art pictures. There are books everywhere! I have a mini library filled with numerous books. Reading is definitely my greatest passion and favourite hobby. I also love horse riding and activities such as paddle and outdoor hikes. My love for the outdoors came from growing up on a farm (I used to help my family with farm duties, so I am not afraid to get my hands dirty!)
