Introduction to families
"Dear Family" message
Dear Family, You are looking for someone to take your place as a parent, certain times of a day. That means I have to try and fill your shoes! I will do this to the best of my ability, with the most care, love and precision. I have a great love for children and through my work I can live out my passion.
Why I would make the perfect au pair
As an au pair, I have over 20 years of experience. This included a variety of ages, duties and responsibilities. I also have 10 years experience working with a down syndrome boy. My other "child" was deaf which also required different challenges (reason for my course at Tygerberg). I walk a long road with each family from diapers to teenager phase, and thus have the necessary experience to look after your child no matter what the age or circumstances.
Hobbies and other interests
Horse riding, reading, mountain hiking, walking at the beach and baking.

Employer comments
Juanita has been a highly valued and trusted part of our family for 13 years. She joined us when my daughter was 5 months old and has been instrumental in my children's upbringing. My husband and I both work full time in demanding jobs and we would not have been able to balance home and work demands without Nita. She is the second mother to our children. Juanita has a very strong work ethic - she has never taken a day of sick leave, always consults on her leave requirements well in advance and is willing to be flexible on work hours if unexpected demands arise for us at work. She is always punctual and 100% reliable. She runs all of our household requirements and is proactive in seeing what is required and arranging for it without waiting for instruction from me. She is given a monthly household budget and I am able to fully entrust her with those funds. Now that our children are older, she plans the week's logistics and ensures that all sporting and other commitments run on time and smoothly. Juanita has a passion for young children and has many years of experience in running constructive playtime (from babies to teenagers). Over the years, she has assisted me with all of the follow-on home therapy from my children's occupational therapy, speech therapy and vision therapy requirements. She does this thoroughly and in a disciplined manner to ensure that there is continuous progress. Juanita is a genuine star in childcare and will be an invaluable asset to a loving family.
