Dear Family, I am 24 years old and currently in my final year of studying education at Varsity College. After finishing high school, I spent time in America as an Au Pair, where I had the incredible experience of caring for three children aged 3, 7, and 9. I absolutely loved my time there! Since returning to South Africa, I’ve continued working as an Au Pair, looking after a 3-year-old and 1-year-old twins. I am a kind and compassionate person with a deep love for children, and I am passionate about making a career out of working with them after I complete my studies. Why I would make the perfect au pair

I believe I would make an excellent Au Pair because of my loving and caring nature, as well as my deep passion for working with children. I am assertive yet understanding, and I approach every challenge with dedication and a positive attitude. I pride myself on being a strong communicator and consider myself to be very mature. I spent two years in America as an Au Pair, and I have extensive experience with children beyond that. This includes babysitting, teaching practicals, coaching and volunteering as an assistant Sunday School teacher at my church for about a year. I also enjoy volunteering as a skating coach were I coach beginner adults and children with down syndrome. I strongly value equality, fairness, and treating everyone with respect. I strongly believe in following your dreams and making the most of every opportunity. This mindset has encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone, try new things, and actively contribute to my university community. I am a member of the VC Cares committee on campus, where I get to make a difference both on and off campus through outreaches and event planning. Additionally, I serve as a sports administrator for our volleyball team and play softball for the university’s club. Since starting at VC, I’ve embraced every chance to learn and grow, completing courses in robotics, coaching, and disability inclusion. In my free time, I’ve taken up figure skating and enjoy developing this new skill. I also teach beginner adults and children with Down syndrome, sharing my passion for the sport and helping them discover the joy of skating. I strive to be a well-rounded individual and approach every task with dedication and enthusiasm.
