"Dear Family" message

Dear potential family, I am computer science student (online studying) based in Pretoria East. I am family oriented and tend to keep to myself. I have been around kids all my life and spent two years abroad as an Au pair - where I was required to do First Aid. I love kids and being around their young personalities, as it brings a sense of fresh air and innocence to life. Although I am studying, it will not take away from the job I will potentially get as an Au pair. I am responsible, able to multitask and manage my time adequately. Once I get the job, I will split my time between taking of the child/children during the time specified and working on my schoolwork at night or in my free time. I will never let my school work interfere with kids, and I'll always put the kids first.

Why I would make the perfect au pair

I am good with kids and I understand the role I will be put in. I am patient, responsible, easy going and funny. I understand that by being an Au pair, I'm an extension of the parents and I have to lead by example and act as a confidant at times. I have volunteered at children's homes and I was an Au pair for 2 years in the USA. Those experiences, in addition to living around kids all my life, has made me gravitate towards kids of all ages. I put my all in everything I do and I'm always open to learning how things could be better done. Furthermore, I am cognizant of that fact that all kids, families included aren't the same and need to be treated on a family to family basis.

Reading, learning different languages, playing different type of sports (tennis, netball and soccer) I also enjoy watching documentaries about nature, animals and history.

I mainly worked with the 2 year old, as he wasn't in preschool. I facilitated his early childhood education by helping him improve his speech (through books), teaching him how to count, be aware of his surrounding and how to interact with other children. I mostly took him to the park, played with him and supervised play dates. Furthermore, my responsibilities included making him food (snacks, lunch and breakfast), improving his speech and understanding of his surroundings. For the two older boys, I responsible for pick-ups from school, homework assists and spending time with them at the park. In addition, I also had general household errands and tidied around the house

Without a doubt the best decision at the time! Bonolo worked with my family for almost a year, and if it was possible we would have loved for her to stay longer. She's a responsible, caring and firm babysitter. She worked with my youngest the son the most, because he hadn't started preschool by then. She came in on time, did some general cleaning (although this was not in her job description, and a welcome surprise, most babysitter don't do that), helped my son with educational activities (we wanted him to have a head start), took him to the park and other child friendly venues. Also assisted the two oldest sons with school projects and homework and afternoon pickups She She took initiative and went over and above her role (stand-in for parent teacher meetings, doctors appointments, playdates), and will perfectly suit any family she joins.
