Introduction to families
Dear Family, My name is Leandi. I am 20 years old and I'm an ambitious, hard-working and adaptable individual. I am goal driven, motivated and open minded. I am fluent in Afrikaans and English as I come from a loving Afrikaans family but attended an English secondary school.
I would make a great au pair because of my adaptable nature and flexible schedule. I'm a very fun-loving and adventurous person with a positive mindset and lots of patience. I'm excellent with kids and I love animals. I'm very comfortable driving my car, helping with homework (studying and projects), cooking and working in school holidays. As much as I consider myself down-to-earth and light hearted I can also be very strict and make sure the tasks at hand are completed up to set standards. I am extremely reliable, accomodating and enjoy helping others to any extent. I am very young at heart and find it easy to relate to children, which is helpful when forming bonds and ensuring kids feel safe and comfortable in my presence
Some of my hobbies include trail walking, walking our dog, playing video games and art. I consider myself to be very creative and I love painting and drawing. I enjoy the outdoors and spending time with family. I love reading and writing, and I'm pursuing a degree in Communication Science part time through UNISA. I enjoy volunteer work and keeping up with current events. I spend a lot of my free time with my siblings and friends.

I was an aftercare teacher responsible for a Gr.R class in 2019 and a Gr.3 class as of the start of 2020. Both classes had between 10 and 15 kids. My duties at the aftercare included: -assisting with language, maths and life orientation homework -assisting with reading and comprehension tests -setting up and conducting spelling and math tests -kumon assistance -interacting with parents and teachers to ensure homework and activities were being done to their expectations -assisting with other age groups when neccesary -playground monitoring of all age groups -tending to basic injuries -forming individual bonds with the kids in my classes to ensure they feel safe in the aftercare environment -fetching kids from school, making sure they ate and got ready on time for their activities
