Introduction to families
Dear Family As you saw from my profile, my name is Chandré B. I am currently studying Social Work at the Univeristy of Pretoria, 2020 will be my fourth year. I am 22 years of age. I am currently in Belgium as part of an exchange programme, representing the University at Artevelde Hogeschool College. I have been working as an Au Pair for the past two years. The family I currently have a contract with are financially no longer able to afford an Au Pair and this is the reason for the termination of my contract. I am a very enthusiastic as well as optimistic individual. Values that are important to me are honesty, loyalty, respect for diversity and responsibility.
I would make the perfect Au Pair because I have two years in Au Pair experience as well as three years experience with regards to a social work perspective (practical work that has included children all three years). I grew up in a tight knit and supportive family. I have one younger sibling (a sister). Growing up I was always the oldest child of the bunch, meaning I had to look after all the younger children. Throughout my highschool years, I frequently babysat for family friends and at the church care centre. I often worked at the local safe house in my home town where a variety of children with different ages were placed. I am very liberal and I have spent a lot of time researching the developmental stages of children and the needs and tasks that different aged children have and need to meet. It is a very great honour to be part of the growth of any child. I am a very patient person, as well as responsible. I will look after and care for your children as if they were my own.
I read a lot (literature and academic work). I love camping and spending time with family and friends. I am very interested in the correctional facilities and other institutions that host juvenile people. I am also very interested in family dynamics and how roles within families are changing in the modern era. I bake and cook on a daily basis.
