Introduction to families
Hi Family, Im an active, vibrant and dynamic young lady. I'm fun-loving grounded, creative, kind, friendly and very outgoing, with a great sense of humour. I'm incredibly reliable and trustworthy. I have over two decades of child care experience with children of all ages, from new-born to teenager. Im an excellent mentor and confidant, children are naturally drawn to me.
There is always a certain glow people have when they truly love working with children and I would like to imagine that I am one of those people. Children have such big and bright imaginations, so I have no choice but to feed off their positive energy. I enjoy working with children and watching them grow intellectually and socially. Seeing a child smile and knowing that you contributed to it, is definitely most rewarding for me. I mean, who doesn’t love unexpected hugs and smiles from such innocent creations? Being an au pair is more than just being present for your children, it isn't about helping with homework or even keeping little minds active in the afternoons. Being an au pair is being a part of the energy that makes your children shine, it is being a contributor to their magic and the hand they hold when they need to believe in the impossible. Choosing an au pair is no small task because you need someone who will rise to the occasion the way you would for your children - I believe that I am that person for your children. I will rise to the occasion every time, lift them up whenever they need it and be the constant in their lives.
I absolutely love being outside, so hiking, picnics, swimming. I'm very partial to most outdoor activities. I also enjoy going to galleries, museums, the few that we have, as well as exploring the city, the food markets, and heritage sites and places of interest. I also love doing photo walks in and around Joburg and Pretoria, and have included the older children I have looked after in most of these activities during the school holidays, with parental consent, they absolutely loved all the different adventures and experiences.

Boy, Riley was 5 years old when I started taking care of him.
I would occasionally take Riley to pre-school in the morning, when parents were not able to do so. I would fetch him from school everyday, make lunch for him and then do some fun activities together, which would either be at home or as an outing. I also cared for him during the school holidays. When Riley got older and started primary school, I would fetch him from school, take him to his extra mural activities, and then assist him with his homework.

Since Bronwyn started caring for Riley, she's become a trusted and reliable friend of our family. She truly adores our son and they have a very special bond. Bronwyn is a patient, attentive caretaker, who is truly invested in the wellbeing of the children in her care.

Girl. Zoe, 2 years old.
This was a 6 month contract, full time live-in position. My responsibilities included cooking all Zoe's meals, bathing, preparing her bottles, putting her to bed, various fun and educational activities such as water play, finger painting, reading, building blocks, singing, dancing, outings to the park, the zoo, and play dates. I also potty trained Zoe during my time with her.
