Introduction to families
Dear family, I am a vibrant, energetic, hardworking young lady with a passion for children! My strengths include my patience, creativity and above all else compassion. Furthermore, I am highly responsible and I am always willing to go the extra mile when it comes to catering to the needs of the child. I am a 25-year-old student currently completing a Masters of Social Science in the field of community mental health promotion. I have an Honours degree in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in the humanities. In the year 2018, I trained as a board-certified behavioural therapist at the Star Academy School for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Related Disorders. During my tenure at The Star Academy, I also worked at Catch Up Kids, their affiliate organisation, where I provided curriculum support and tutoring to children requiring extra support in the mainstream schooling environment. I left the Star Academy to obtain a Masters degree and I have been employed as an Au Pair through Extraordinaire Au Pairs for the past year.
Nurturing children and infants is my calling. I am passionate about creating stimulating environments for young minds at every developmental level. My approach to au pairing is to provide the child with the tools and the support they require to reach their full potential. To achieve this end, my aim is to foster supportive environments that promote confidence, age-appropriate independence, creativity and the ability for the child to reach their academic potential. For infants and toddlers, my approach is to create nurturing and safe environments that promote cognitive and physical development through exploration and play. I am an energetic, warm, nurturing and empathetic individual. My dominant attributes include my organisational skills, my attention to detail, and my adaptability. Previous employers have described me as highly reliable, professional yet friendly and approachable and kind and compassionate.
I thoroughly enjoy cooking, reading, walking my dog in the park and other outdoors activities. My interest include child psychology, autism spectrum disorder and related disorders, ADHD, learning delays and child care.
