I have taken a few child psychology courses already in my degree which gives me a better understanding of child development. Although it has only been just over a month, Nyeleti has made a considerable difference in our lives already. Our son is at ease with his aupair because she's warm and has taken the time to get to know him. The structure we desired, but weren't quite sure how to achieve, has now materialised. Nyeleti maps out a schedule for the month with important events and shares a weekly calendar. She ensures that he makes it to his extramurals on time; helps with practice; and takes the time to plan crafting activities at home when there is nothing on the agenda. It's incredibly reassuring to know that even when I'm away the boy is learning/ playing and essentially just having a great time. I've often felt guilty over the number of hours I spend at work, so she's intentional about sharing snapshots of their daily activities. Overall, we're just happy to have someone come alongside us, who not only loves children, but also has an understanding of child development. This Psychology major has a bright future ahead of her and is destined for big things, but we're grateful that she is just as invested in her 'side hustle' (taking care of our little human) as she is in her future endeavors.
