We are a professional family seeking a reliable, nurturing, and proactive nanny to support our 10-year-old son during the day as he continues his homeschooling journey. He has been homeschooled since Grade 2 and follows a structured weekly schedule that includes a clear work plan and task-tracking system. This role is not about teaching the curriculum (we handle the academic planning and marking), but rather ensuring he stays focused, does not skip or rush through work, and feels supported throughout his learning. We are looking for someone who is firm but kind, trustworthy, and actively engaged — someone who understands how to motivate children in a positive way and enjoys balancing work with meaningful play and fun learning activities. Key Responsibilities: •Supervise and support our son during his homeschooling day (Monday to Friday) • Guide him through a task board system (To Do, Working On, Needs Review, Corrections, Done) • Ensure he stays on track, completes work properly, and doesn’t skip assignments • Check his self-marked work for obvious issues before escalating to parents for review • Help explain concepts when possible (no need to be a tutor, but willing to try before deferring) • Organize engaging, creative, or educational fun-time activities once work is complete • Encourage responsibility, independence, and a positive attitude towards learning • Manage breaktimes, meals/snacks, and ensure a clean, distraction-free work environment • Provide short daily feedback or summaries to parents on progress and behavior Ideal Candidate: • Passionate about working with children and enjoys helping them grow • Confident and firm in following through on expectations, but kind and supportive • Organized and proactive — comfortable running a structured daily schedule • Able to build a relationship of trust and mutual respect with both child and parents • Comfortable working independently while parents are in back-to-back work meetings • Strong communication skills and fluent in English • Bonus: Experience with homeschooling, teaching support, or a love for creative projects Salary per hour negotiable depending on experience with references.
