About our family: My husband and I both work full time. We are however fairly flexible in how we can manage our time. When we are home in the evening and over weekends we prioritise spending time with our kids. We hope to find someone who will really grow to care and love them as a second mother. They are two lovely kids who get along well and are well mannered. We have great outdoor surroundings and would love for our kids to spend plenty of time outside exploring. Our kids also love to read, draw and build puzzles, so they are easy to manage indoors when the weather is bad. I would like to employ someone who can really connect with them and teach them emotional intelligence. They have naturally high levels of enthusiasm and can concentrate long/intensely. We would like you to arrange play dates with some of their friends, preferably once a week where you can take them to a friend's house or invite the friends to ours. We would be happy to extend the working hours to a full time position if you prefer; and use the morning hours for household admin (grocery shopping, cooking, organising, and business marketing/admin). The intention is for the au pair position to be long term. The main duties are around the children and their activities but include some household admin. We prioritize engaging the right person in terms of attitude and fit so are willing to accommodate/be flexible on other aspects. We would value: (a) high emotional intelligence, (b) a warm personality, (c) dependable, responsible and flexible (d) a balanced approach to risk, not overly cautious, (e) able to plan and organise, (f) experience as an au pair, or studies in early years education (g) fluent in Afrikaans and English (i) cooking skills and a passion for healthy living (i) proximity to Stellenbosch. You would need to have your own car and reasonable driving experience. Working hours: Typically 12h30 - 18h00 weekdays; 08h30 – 17h00 during school holidays. Starting date: 7 January 2019
